LCSW Supervision Program
About
Traditionally, Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSWs) aiming to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) incur costs of around $12,500 for the required 100 hours of supervision. Under the new ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ LCSW Supervision Program, 80 percent of these costs will be covered by the LaMantia Family*. This partnership reduces the practitioner’s responsibility to about $2,000 for 100 hours of supervision over a two-year period. Once clinical supervision is complete, practitioners can sit for the State Licensure exam. The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Department of Social Work will cover the licensing exam fee ($150) and provide a study guide to practitioners who complete the program.
*This program is made possible by a gift from the LaMantia Family through the Stars Scholarship Fund to the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Department of Social Work to help increase the number of qualified, highly prepared Licensed Clinical Social Workers in our community.
General Information
The duration of the LCSW-S program is a minimum of 2 years. Practitioners who are accepted into the program must complete 3,000 hours of supervised social work practice, with a minimum of 4 clinical hours each week, and 100 hours of clinical supervision.
For practitioners in non-clinically focused social work employment positions, the minimum requirement of completing at least four clinical hours per week will be met through providing these services at one of the agencies with an established partnership with ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. In these cases, supervisors will give practitioners a list of partnering agencies to pick from to discuss potential opportunities for completing the minimum of 4 clinical hours each week at that agency.
The cost of each clinical supervision session is $20. Payments for clinical supervision are the responsibility of the practitioner (Supervisee) and must be submitted by the last business day each month for the duration of the program; practitioners should expect to pay a fee of $80 per month if they complete 4 weekly supervision sessions. Supervision sessions will be virtual and with a group of no more than 6 individuals.
