Master of Public Health
About the Program
The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Master of Public Health program is designed to provide students with the broad knowledge and analytical and technical skills needed to assume advanced roles as public health professionals in the public, non-profit and private sectors. Core courses focus on the five fundamental public health competencies, including: social and behavioral sciences; health services administration and policy; epidemiology; environmental health; and biostatistics. The program also has a unique Hispanic and Border Health concentration. The program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).
Master of Science in Kinesiology
About the Program
The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Master of Science in Kinesiology program offers research and learning opportunities in areas including motor behavior, strength and conditioning, and metabolic and exercise research, with faculty mentors that specialize in each area. Faculty and student research teams conduct projects in the Department’s four state-of-the-art research laboratories. Graduates are prepared for competitive entry into research and entry-level teaching positions in industry, government or academia, or may decide to establish their own fitness facility or exercise physiology practice.
Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology
About the Program
The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Speech-Language Pathology Program offers a program of study which culminates with the Master of Science degree. Graduates qualify for the Texas license as well as the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, and are prepared to evaluate and treat disorders of human communication in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practice offices, among others. The program also offers a certificate in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology. The program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Master of Social Work
About the Program
The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ Master of Social Work program prepares students for advanced social work practice and leadership. The program offers a concentration in Social Work in the Border Region, and students are trained to address the many social and health needs of families and communities in the Paso del Norte region and beyond. Upon completion of the curriculum, students are eligible to sit for the national licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) exam. The program is accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
